Signe Winding Albjerg was accredited as the Ambassador to Uganda in 2022 and subsequently Ambassador to Rwanda, Burundi and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Prior to her appointment as Ambassador, she held the position of Director for Africa, Policy and Development, within the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, after having served as Director for Green Diplomacy and Climate since 2020.
Signe Winding Albjerg is a career diplomat and has been with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Copenhagen and abroad for almost two decades. Her work has focused on a broad range of development and foreign policy issues, including climate change and development financing, human rights, governance and SRHR. Abroad, she has served at the Danish Embassy in Dar es-Salaam, Tanzania, and as Chargé d’Affaires at the Danish Representation in Harare, Zimbabwe.
Signe Winding Albjerg holds a Master’s Degree in Political Science from University of Aarhus. She is married and has two children.
