Angelo Izama

Director - Uganda Investment Authority

Angelo Izama is a Ugandan journalist, writer, and analyst. He is the Head of Faculty at the Leo Africa Institute, a leadership academy and Pan-African Thought Leadership platform that is focused on fostering next generation servant leaders.

Mr. Izama is a director at the Uganda Investment Authority where he focuses on advancing domestic participation in the Ugandan economy through impact investment and Joint Ventures. He is recipient of several prestigious awards and fellowships, including the Open Society Fellowship, the Knight Fellowship at Stanford University, the Center for Democracy and Rule of Law (CDDRL) fellowship and the Reagan-Fascell Democracy fellowship. Following a lifelong commitment to human rights and freedom of expression in particular he also sits on the boards of Chapter Four Uganda and the Media Challenge Initiative.

He splits his time between Kampala, Palo Alto and Abu Dhabi
