Mr. Benson Turamye is the Executive Director of the Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Authority (PPDA), the Ugandan Public Procurement Regulatory body that he has served for over 15 years. He is 55 years old, married with three children.
Mr. Turamye holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and a Master’s Degree in Economic Policy and Planning from Makerere University and is member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supplies (MCIPS).
At PPDA, he is currently at the forefront of the implementation of public financial management reforms, geared towards promoting transparency in public procurement. Such reforms include the upcoming Electronic Government Procurement (e-GP), the promotion of the implementation of Reservation and Preference scheme to promote local content in public procurement and ensuring effective service delivery to the public.
