Mr Hamza Galiwango is the Director Industrial Parks Development at Uganda Investment Authority. He has held this position since 2014 having previously worked with the Ministry of Lands, Housing and Urban Development as a Senior Regional Planner. He holds a Master’s Degree in Land Management and Real Estate Development from the Royal Institute of Technology, KTH, Stockholm, Sweden, a Bachelor’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning from Makerere University Kampala, a post graduate Diploma in Geo information systems from University of Twente, Netherlands, a post graduate Diploma in Sustainable Local Economic Development from Erasmus University, Netherlands.
He has extensive experience in Industrial Parks Development, Agricultural Land use Development, Land Policy formulation and implementation, Physical and regional planning, land law and practice, land use planning and management, industrial land planning and development, human rights and gender integration in land management and administration.
He is currently charged with leading the team that is implementing the national industrial parks development strategy which entails establishment of 23 industrial and business parks as well as 4 regional science and technology parks across the country.
