Patrick Micheal Ayota is the Fund’s Deputy Managing Director. He was appointed by the Minister of Finance, Planning & Economic Development on 29th October 2017. He was formerly the Fund’s Chief Finance Officer since 2011.
Patrick has extensive experience in Accounting and Finance Management, investment management and social security, gained over the years in various senior management roles across different markets including the USA.
Prior to joining the Fund, he was the Chief Finance Officer at Barclays Bank (Uganda).
In October 2017, he was announced Runner Up, Chief Financial Officer of the Year, at the inaugural CFO of the Year Awards, which award was organized by the Association of Chartered and Certified Accountants (ACCA) and Deloitte Uganda.
Patrick has been at the forefront of various projects in the USA and at the Fund which he steered successfully.
Patrick has an MBA from the University of South Carolina (USA), and a Bachelor of Science (Finance) from Liberty University, Virginia (USA).
Patrick cites former South African President, Nelson Mandela as his role model.
“Mandela understood the time and his role in that time. At the height of his presidency, he chose to walk away, for he understood that his role was to usher in independence and not preside over the nation. That is my inspiration”, he says.
